It's Okay if You Haven't Been Creative in a While.

When it comes to being creative, whether it be through personal projects or work, doing it can mean a lot to you. It can be a stress reliever, an outlet to express yourself, or even just something to do for fun. But, what happens if you experience burnout?

Creative burnout can happen at any time and can last anywhere between a day or two, to months, maybe even years! It can be incredibly discouraging when you haven't been able to do anything or make anything in so long.

I myself first experienced this in high school, where I had to put my creative hobbies on hold as I struggled with classes. This led to me starting to have a difficult time getting motivated to write or draw something. Though I was one of the lucky few who had a couple of creative outbursts during quarantine. However, as I am in my last months of college, I'm starting to feel the sadness that comes with being burned out again.

Despite this negative feeling that I have, I'm going to try something different than how I confronted it in high school. From talking with others, I've learned that I am not alone in experiencing creative burnout, and I shouldn't blame myself, but to instead try to take time to find myself and inspiration again.

All in all, if you're feeling bad about not creating something in a while, it's ok! It happens to more people than you think. I guarantee you will find that spark again. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not in a year. But one day, inspiration may come at you when you least expect it. So, look out for that day!
